All Saints Celebration 2018

“Where have you come from? And where are you going?”

These are the questions posed by the angel of God in Genesis 16:8. The year 2018 marks the 10 year anniversary of the completion of the sanctuary and we celebrate a decade of ministry that has flowed from our collective worship in this space! It seems timely for us to pause and ask these same questions, and to participate in two events designed to help us remember our past storycelebrate our present story, and begin to write the story of our future

1. Attend Evensong, Thursday, November 1st at 7pm in the sanctuary where we pause to hear our ancient story, to remember the blessings and the adversities of the past, to remember the people who have gone before us and made it possible to stand where we stand, and to remember how our lives have been changed.

2. Worship at 8am and 10am, November 4th, with special guest, Very Reverend Professor Chris Hancock, theological advisor to the Ridley Institute and one of Father Craige’s seminary professors, bookended by a Big Breakfast and an all-parish dinner. Let's celebrate the present with feasts and fellowship, worship and praise, and a good old-fashioned covered dish dinner.

Then, in response to the question "Where are we going?" we will consider the future and the story of the next decade as we dream and seek God's will for our work across the globe, here in our community, and in our homes and personal lives. Start remembering... and as you remember take note. Start dreaming... and as you dream, dream big.

Jesus repeated these same words in John 8:14: " testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going..." May we together, with all the saints gone before and to come, know where we came from, and where we are going.
