Hebrews 3 tells us that Moses was a faithful servant in God's house.  But Jesus was more worthy of glory than Moses, just like the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.  The author of Hebrews also reminds us that when Moses led the Jewish people out of slavery in Egypt, they ended up wandering in the wilderness for forty years because they would not trust God.  Why do you suppose he reminds us of that?  Verses 12-19 tell us why.  It is a warning that we should take care that we do not have evil unbelieving hearts that might cause us to "fall away from the living God."  It also contains a responsibility that we are to help and encourage one another so that we do not hardened our hearts and be "unable to enter his rest because of unbelief."

NEXT WEEK:  Hebrews compares Jesus to the High Priest.  Don't miss it!
